First Week Completed!

Phew....

That's all I should put in this blog post - but I haven't posted for a week or so, so I should write a little bit more.

This past week was awesome, but also: emotional, tiring, exciting, and a whole lot of new experiences and information overload!!

I'm going to start off by saying that: I LOVE WESTMINSTER COLLEGE.

Seriously. I do. This college is so beautiful, awesome, and everyone is so friendly. I loved the University of Utah and I'll be a Utah Ute till I die, but I think Westminster is the perfect place for me to complete Graduate School. It's so serene and I can just go sit at a table in the courtyard with a cute little umbrella, looking at the flowers hanging, and listen to the fountains/the bells of the main building. It's been so nice to have "ME" time. But I have made friends, and that's always great especially in a program like this. There are only 22 of us in the Montessori Program, but it's amazing. I'm going to go on and on about the Montessori' Method in another post because it truly is where I belong and how I want to teach, but for now, I'll just talk about the week. I've already learned so much in such a small amount of time! It's amazing really and so interesting. The one hard, HARD, adjustment for me to get used to is the 8 hours everyday starting at 8 am. We sit a lot. Yes, we have our breaks, but it's not enough. I feel so unsettled sitting in a chair most of the day. I'm used to moving around a lot more! But the Montessori Program is 8 weeks then I start working in the school for my practicums, so that will be good. So...7 more weeks ;)

I have been going through a personal ordeal that I didn't feel like Blogger was the right place to express. I still don't. It's personal and some things you shouldn't have to share. But after a 2 year battle with something, it's finally over. It didn't go EXACTLY how I wanted, but it's over. And honestly, I felt like the weight of the world is now off my shoulders. That's what I was dealing with last week as well. You don't want to have to deal with drama on your first week of Grad School; you just don't. But I'm thankful for those who were always by my side. Thank you.

Moving on, today is my 6th Month Anniversary with Will :) It's been such a wonderful adventure. Sure you have your ups and downs, but that's what makes you stronger as a couple. I am so excited for the future, wherever that may take us. But for now, I'm enjoying NOW. We are going to Snowbird today with some friends for Brewfest which will be really fun. I'm so excited because two of my really good friends who moved away, are back in town and will both be there! So it will be a nice little reunion. Then Will and I decided instead of a fancy restaurant, we wanted to go get a big juicy burger from Lucky 13 later, and then the Bees Baseball Game! The most exciting thing? Tonight there will be fireworks after the game. A perfect way to end the night :)

Here are Instagram Pics to catch it all up:
One day last week, I went on a hike to the waterfall all by myself! I wanted to enjoy my last week of freedom!
The greatest nachos ever: Porcupine. Had a girl's night. Don't you love those?
Lagoon Amusement Park day with my cousin Alaina! It was her work-day and she was a sweetie and asked me :) We had a great time. Roller coasters are my favorite!
I was walking to Will's after school one day, and this house had the most amazing flowers. I felt like it was the Secret Garden, yet not hidden from the world. So beautiful.
The best lecture I've received thus far in college :) Amazing.
Yesterday was free Root Beer float day at school...um, have I mentioned yet how much I love Westminster?
Happy 6th Month Anniversary Love!
It's been an amazing journey.
That's all for now, going to go enjoy my Saturday by going for a morning run before the day really begins. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

One Door Closes / Another Door Opens

Today was such an emotionally draining day. But with that being said, it was good, and bad. I have been going through something negative (learning process) for a couple of years, and I wanted it to be done. Today was my first day of Graduate School and I wanted to solely focus on my education. But the other thing was nagging at me all day, which obviously took me away from the positive direction I wanted to be in at that time.

However, I dealt with the negative situation and it's overwith. Sure I need to still take care of some things, but for the most part, it's done. I've closed that door.

Now I can focus on the next chapter of my life. I'm so thrilled to be able to have this opportunity to attend Grad School. The Montessori Program I'm doing has really made a difference in the way I want to teach, but I had no idea how interesting and in-depth it truly was. If you ever have a minute, look up Maria Montessori, and I'm sure you'll be impressed as well. Teaching has really changed over the years, and I want to get it back to the roots of learning.

I'm just so happy to be able to focus on positive aspects of my life. You realize as you go through something, how thankful you should be.

Life has a funny way of turning out. And my horoscopes lately have been DEAD ON...which is a little creepy, but was a reassuring source when I was having a hard time.

This blog entry is short, but I'm exhausted and already have a paper due tomorrow (WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL). But I am happy that my pool opens tomorrow, date night with my boy (and 6th month anny this weekend), and some other fun activities this week, besides attending school full-time. It's nice to have that direction again and I can't wait to focus all my attention to school tomorrow. My mind will be with it completely.

Goodnight!

A Dinner for Two

Will and I always have great date nights; seriously we have had some really memorable ones. We think it's really important in our relationship to spend a fair amount together, and apart. Spending time with friends and family is very important, but you need to make sure you get that time with your significant other. That's why we try to get a few date nights in a week. We don't need to spend a lot of money, but just be with one another.

Last night was probably up there as one of my favorites. Will moved into his place a week ago and is finally getting furniture. I've really helped him in the process, especially the buying and finding of essentials he needs. He got a dining table, and I got a little grill that was so cheap, but worked WONDERFULLY. So we put the little grill together in his backyard and made some delicious hot dogs. I made salad and cut up fruit, and we just spent time together listening to the Beatles in the background. It's so nice having this little space, and no I don't live with him, but it's fun to be there and think of it as my little space too. I helped clean earlier and just spent some time by myself there. So cozy! I just love the area.
The little grill working it's magic :)
Our delicious finished product
It's just been so great....ahh, memories!! Can't wait to make so many more. Can't believe we've almost been official 6 months, but have dated for 7. It's crazy! Time flies by, yet I feel as though I've known him a lifetime. His birthday is June 23rd and I want to do something really special too; any ideas of what I could do? I've been thinking but I don't know.

Anyway, yesterday I totally bought all the Harry Potter books for my Kindle -- well actually my cousin Alaina and I split them (pricy), but well worth it! I've started the series for the millionth time, but I love having them all with me...always! SO great.
Oh and I know I post a lot of pics of my cat, OKAY...A LOT A LOT, but he's so darn cute I cannot help it. He's already 10 weeks old can you believe it? Because I sure can't. He's really gotten longer. He has to go to the vet Friday to get his shots now that he's big enough :(
So today was unreal weather wise; it totally dropped from 97 degrees, to 60...freezing! Your body adjusts to the heat, then it's like, oh okay, um crap forgot my sweater. I should've known because when Will and I were putting together the grill, it was so windy and so cold. But I went running at Sugar House Park, and then instead of getting something nice and warm, I got:
Couldn't help it! I really couldn't. I'm so obsessed with frozen yogurt, and especially TCBY. It's right in the heart of Sugar House (have I mentioned how much I love this area?) and so many choices, not that other places don't...but still. So bright. So happy. I love it. And even though it was a cold treat on a cold day - I was in heaven!

I truly think that Pinterest rubbed off on me, not only in recipes and cooking/baking, but with fashion, makeup, home decor, and CRAFTS! I was always so creative...but a whole new level. This isn't exactly creative, but it was cute!
Anyway, cousin night...seeing Snow White again ha! But she had two free tickets, and a large popcorn so why not? Have a great evening everyone.

PS: I love how it's barely 6 pm and the crickets are out chirping. Ohh how I love summer; too bad I start full-time school next week & my pool opens the same day!

xo.

Summertime 2012

Wow, where in the world does time go? I realized I haven't blogged in a few weeks. Sometimes my days are so busy, that I really don't have the time to sit and write...even though I wish I did; love to write...And it will get even harder once Grad School starts next week. Can you believe it? I can't!

It's already summertime too; JUNE! Yikes.

I love showing the past few weeks in Instagram pictures; I take them a lot, so it helps explain my life a little better ;) I'll do those and some pictures with my camera:
Celebrated my best friend's 25th birthday at Bonsai! Delicious Japanese food and they cook right in front of you!
Birthday girl and her boy
The weather has been so nice in Utah (too hot though), but I enjoy reading on my deck every evening :)
Finally made it to a bakery called Normandie...wow this tart was amazing! And I also got a grilled cheese. Speaking of grilled cheeses, a new place opened up called Melty Way and I cannot wait to check it out.
My mom is a sweetie and made me chocolate strawberries!
My boy Ollie is 9 weeks in these pics, but this week he's 10 weeks. Growing up FAST!
Spending time with my boy :)
Beautiful park right by my house! Love to go running here.
Oatmeal with a lot of fruit! This is my breakfast pretty much daily!!
My boyfriend Will's new place! I love it. Right in the heart of Sugar House. We seriously can walk to everything: food, store, movie theater, park, library, etc. I'm in heaven. It's a little cottage house too and he even has a backyard. So exciting.  We've really been decorating it! I'll take more pictures shortly.
Utah's Pride Festival. This was the parade. This festival is one of the biggest in the nation! It's really cool and I love supporting everyone. Everyone should love who they want. That's my view.
Great picture my boyfriend took!!
He also took this one of me. It's so creepy that someone wrote that on the wall...and then there is a little alley way...um no thank you!
Here are some more pictures I took of the parade:

My aunt and two cousins are across the street!! hehe!
My poor boy was a great sport. He was not only sick with a bad cold, but it was so hot like I said. Pretty sure he was miserable...but he still stayed the whole time with me.
Poor girl passed out :(
Rainbow Dog!
My cute cousin and good friend Mike!
Friend Steve and his adorable dog Gracie who decided to give him a hug :)
It was so darn hot outside though at the parade, so we didn't stay for the festival. But we went to a place called Toaster downtown SLC, and it was yummy! I got a caprese sandwich.

I also went to a toga party last weekend! It was quite fun:
It really is crazy how fast time goes by - so much has happened even in a few short weeks. Pictures can't capture everything. There have been some rough times, but I'm getting on track with my life in a positive way. Being healthy is definitely number one!! Also, I'm cooking and baking more, helping decorate my boyfriend's place, getting prepared to go back to school, and writing. Oh writing. I love it so much and I will always be working on my pieces. It's a lot though!

Then there are season finales, like Vampire Diaries (OMG!) and I saw Snow White and the Huntsman the other night. I loved it!! I thought all the actors/actresses did fantastic. I definitely want to see it again.

That's all for now, have a lot to do this week, so not sure when I can blog again. But for those who have stuck around...thank you! Means a lot. xo.
