The Written Word

For anyone who reads my blog, it's no surprise that I am an aspiring author. Ever since I was five years old, I wanted to be two things in life: a teacher & a writer. My goal to be a teacher is getting closer and closer, and I somewhat put aside my love for writing as I went along that journey. Blogging and journaling were the closest aspects I made towards writing, but it wasn't enough. After my step-father Greg was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), I started writing more to express what I was feeling. I wrote a poem that ended up going in his program at the funeral. He knew how talented I was, especially with writing, and told me to go for it no matter what happens. So in that moment, and other inspirations in life, brought me to the point I'm at now: the path to become an author.

It's not an easy task and they say "don't quit your job" to do it, but if you have enough passion, desire, and will-power to accomplish it then nothing can stop you. I won't let it! Also, I've always been really creative and imaginative (hand-in-hand with wanting to be a kindergarten teacher). It really shows when I write and I can picture these dream worlds so effortlessly. Finally I found thee story I'm hoping will be published someday. It's the real deal; in my head at least.
If I make it or not, only time will tell. But in reality I'm doing this for myself and for Greg. I believe life is short and we need to make the most of it; that's what I intend to do. So I'll accomplish my goals of teaching and writing.

This is my life.
I created another blog for only my "aspiring author" and writing concepts. Live Laugh Love is still my main blog, but The Written Word is dear to me as well and will be the area I share my information and my writing journey.

Please check it out (especially other writers)!

Also, I'm starting a writing group called: WWW - which you can read about more on The Written Word.

Thank you! If you have any questions, please contact me.
